Website Scenera, Inc.

At Scenera, we solve the problem of processing real-time results from distributed AI processing of live camera feeds and other sensors. We have created a cloud platform that enables developers to create applications that utilize AI algorithms at the edge or in the cloud to generate event information which can be consumed by Apps. We are a small startup, and we already have partnered with industry leaders such as Sony, Microsoft, Foxconn, Wistron & Nikon. This has enabled us to participate in innovative projects related to edge computing, AI, 5G network technology and cloud services. We have built a PaaS (Platform as a Service) that allows companies and developers to extend our core functionality to fit their needs, and this is currently being used by our first customer S&I in Korea, which is a daughter company of LG that manages many buildings containing many cameras.

We’re looking for a skilled software engineer to join our team and solve some of our most challenging problems. You would be responsible for continuous work on our data pipeline.

Responsbilities include:

  • Continuous development and refinement of our data pipeline / API, mostly written in the .NET Framwork, that stores and routes payloads sent from local edge devices that connected to camera feeds.
  • Improve and guarantee data privacy and security. We provide a platform for managing cameras, the data that they generate and the applications that can access the data. A critical part of this solution is to manage the security of camera access and data protection. We need to ensure that our development practice takes provides the highest level of security and privacy.
  • We use Kubernetes to manage our deployments and scaling. We have built-in monitoring and scaling solutions that you will monitor, improve and extend to ensure world-wide robustness of our infrastructure.
  • Design and build testing tools and frameworks to automate development, testing deployment, management and monitoring of the company’s 24×7 services and products.
  • Provide internal and third-party platform developers with support, supervision and clear documentation.
  • Work to monitor, improve and extend our CI/CD pipelines across all of our deployments.
  • Manage our (Azure) cloud infrastructure for cost optimisation, monitoring of resource health and capacity. Including procedures for fail-over and resiliency.
  • Optimize our data storage for cost and efficiency.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in object-oriented languages, such as C#, Python, Java, Go
  • Proven ability to document design processes, including development, tests, analytics, and troubleshooting
  • Strong scripting and test automation abilities
  • Excellent writing and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft .NET stack
  • Experience with container-based technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, and deployment technologies, such as Helm.
  • Extensive experience in DevOps engineering.
  • Experience working in a cloud platform, such as Azure or others, and developing cloud-native applications using concepts like lambda/serverless, microservices, CI/CD, Agile methodologies, and cloud-native security.

How we work

We work with developers from all over the world, including the Netherlands, Korea, India, Japan and the US. You would join a complementary team of engineers working on various aspects of our platform, including the abovementioned responsibilities, some of which you would take over, others of which we would collaborate on. We work according to AGILE and conduct weekly sprint planning and review and a daily standup. You will have a lot of freedom to conduct your own working hours and location. We are still a small company and we therefore expect you to carry the responsibility of your part of the platform. You are encouraged to share your vision on what should be done next and prioritise tasks.
